Apartment Cleanup
Read more about this service or situation.
Property managers may need to coordinate cleanup after an unattended death, traumatic incident, blood spill or contaminated unit while also handling access, documentation and occupant concerns. The first priority is controlling exposure and understanding the affected area.
Where employees may have reasonably anticipated occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials, OSHA requirements can apply. Avoid assigning a blood cleanup task as ordinary housekeeping without evaluating exposure responsibilities.
Useful documentation can include the location and general extent of contamination and affected materials. Do not disturb an uncleared scene or create additional exposure merely to take photographs.
Coverage and claim handling vary by policy. Confirm who is authorized to approve work and contact the insurer when appropriate rather than promising reimbursement.
